In Denmark we have opportunities that other kids don't

Jonathan was thinking along these lines three years ago when he got the idea for Børns Hjælp (Children's Help) - a humanitarian organization driven by kids to support other kids who are poor. Back then he was almost eight years old, but he was so passionate about inequality that he was able to quickly get others to catch onto the idea. In fact, he and his classmates won the national championships in this year's money collection effort!

The idea is that kids can collect money in different, inventive ways and in that way help others. The money collected, which Børns Hjælp receives or collects itself, goes toward larger organizations like Red Barnet (Save the Children) and Unicef. Because, as the now 11-year-old Jonathan says, it's hard to know exactly which children need help the most.

And the organization now has a website. On it kids can find good ways to collect money and useful links. You can also become a member of Børns Hjælp by buying t-shirts, of which the proceeds go to children via Red Barnet and Unicef.

We've chosen to help Børns Hjælp by creating their website. You can see it here.
